Blog Assignment Review
I think this was a pretty good assignment. I have never really done any real blogging before, so it was interesting to see if people would be able to follow my sometimes scattered way of writing. I liked that our group shared the links to the blogs that they researched. I can see that if someone were to get a lot of viewers, more information would reach farther onto the Internet. To Infinity and Beyond.
Blogging: Chapter Five
This chapter’s idea of narrative blogs is something that I am really interested in doing. You can be as creative as you’d like.
I also like the fact that, as of now, you don’t have too many limits on what you can write about. You can be in a love triangle, losing your mother to cancer, or be struggling in your dating life. (I of course would never write about these sort of things.)
Its in these cases, when people do write about these things, do authors get the most readers however. The most viewers.
Its like people get to read, or watch a little movie everytime they log on. They get addicted to the story line. They want to see how it ends.
Quicker than a novel, easier than a movie.
I think I need to start one.
Any suggestions?
Blogging: Chapter Four
I definitely think that bloggers are journalists. It doesn’t make sense why some people don’t believe they are. The only difference is a few years in school. Who says an average, non-degree, person can’t write down a few facts on something they witnessed and pass it off for being news?
I think the only qualification for being a journalist is that you have to be there while its happening. I mean, these people were. So were these. The first few messages/updates/facts about what was happening were from bloggers.
I thought it was really cool that a blogger can get enough readers to fund his trip to Iraq to report the war. He was a reporter.
Maybe the only difference people see in the blogger/reporter debate is the energy put into the report. A “reporter” will put in more time than a “blogger.” But we can see this isn’t always the case.
Bloggers are starting to make their appearance though. Invites to the White House, going to Iraq.
I agree with the final statement. More blogs=more news.
There is no difference.
The Oddest Blog On The Internet.
Our class group, myself, Mike, and Alana, decided to focus on other blog sites. We wanted to look at how independent blogs, (blogs that haven’t completely sold out to corporate sponsorship yet,) operated and were different from well-known blogs.
At least thats what I think we were doing.
I choice Oddee.com. I have been going to this site everyday for over a year now, (usually five minutes every time,) just to see obscure pictures from around the world. People are allowed to make their list of pictures and add them whenever they want. A new update of pictures happens everyday. Independent people are also allowed to add their own pictures to other people’s lists. I have done this before, and it was updated on the site within the hour.
I would call this blog a happy medium between a filter and topic-driven blog. The pictures can be taken from places on the Internet the author goes, (filter,) and every article fits the description as odd, (topic-driven.) What’s more is, you can create your own profile and groups, creating a network of people who are all interested in the bizarre.
I also enjoy this site because it isn’t run by any big company. You don’t get all of the pop-ups and survey questions, the millions of side ads or, sign ups. You can just go and look. This blog also links to other weird picture sites around the web. Great time waster.
What should I tattoo?
I am offering anyone a chance to make a suggestion as to the location and the contents of my new tattoo. I am not opposed to any place on my body or size. I have been thinking about this for a long time, and I am really excited to see what people can come up with. Just leave a comment on this post, and I will sort out my favorites. I will then try to contact the person who posted the idea after I get their tattoo to show them how it turned out. Here are some suggestions.
Thanks.
My sister’s journal: Her Saturday Night
More from my sister’s journal:
“I can’t wait until Saturday night! We are all going to Hannah the Pig’s for the party.”
My sister’s journal: Alan Thick
I stole my sister’s journal today and read the first few pages. A lot of it had to do with her boyfriend and different teachers at her school. However, on the third page, she talks explicitly about her love affair with a certain, older celebrity. “Alan Thick,” she writes, “is sooooo(sic) hot. All I want to do is be with his hot ass!” I am not going to go much farther than this, but I am guessing you know what she talks about next.
More from her journal later.
